Canada, Toronto A young, ex-homeless man is nearly sent back out onto the streets, when suddenly his luck changes.
Joseph Holms was running out of options. Our journalist, Jenny Daniels, reports that Holms had recently bounced back from some hard times. Having lived in his car for nearly a year, the 25 year old man was happy to be given a second chance at life thanks to the support of some friends and family.
But those helpful resources ultimately faded away, and Holms ended up almost losing everything for a second time and this time with no safety net or support network to back him up should a worst case scenario occur.
Life had been easier for Holms following his recovery from homelessness and unemployment.
After straightening out his life and cleaning up his act, the young man found work as a pizza driver, which held him over for a solid few months.
But eventually, as these things go, the creditors and loan sharks gradually caught up with him. And soon enough, Joey Holms was being dragged back down into the undertow of poverty.
